  • Improved Glass from Alpha I
  • Thinner frame design
  • Rotating frame construction

The Alpha II circular polarizer, now updated with a thinner frame and improved glass, is a great entry-level filter for those starting out their photography education. Providing the same level of polarization as other filters, the Alpha series saves you money by removing premium features like multi-coating, optical glass, and hardened, waterproof top layers.

Circular polarizing filters give scenic photography more punch by darkening blue skies so that white clouds and foliage stand out. Light rays become polarized when traveling through moisture and pollution in the atmosphere as well as when they reflect off non-metallic surfaces. A polarizing filter absorbs polarized light and helps remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as glass or water. By removing these reflections, this filter also increases color saturation, especially in leaves and foliage.

Customer photo review of Alpha II Circular Polarizer

With limited use so far, I feel the filter has met my expectations for quality, construction and rendering the intensity of blues. I've used Hoya filters since the film days and think the quality is now better!

Alpha II Circular Polarizer

Absolutely love the quality of this filter on my a 7II. Unfortunately it fell off during one of my shoots of my car and I didn’t notice it at the time and I’ve unfortunately lost it. But for the small short time I had it. I definitely appreciated the Quality got me and I’m very sad that I don’t have it anymore. I don’t know if it was the lens I have but it like weirdly wouldn’t fully screw on like it felt that it was on, but I guess I just didn’t correctly have it on so a lesson learned for sure.
